Floyd Mayweather training clips with help from the Hip Hop Preacher. How bad do you want it?
If you want to know what great lengths you need to go through in order to obtain success then you need to watch this video daily until you get it right! This is the perfect attitude that we should enter into the new year with. My favorite line in this video is “You Must Be Willing to Give Up Sleep to be Successful”. If you have to go 3 days without sleep to be successful then so be it! WOw! #RealTalk
What kind of projects are you working on right now? Is there an album in the works?
I’m working on another mixtape and my album. I’m writing and working for a lot of people like Ryan Leslie, Sean Kingston, 9th Wonder, Busta Rhymes, and Rick Ross.
From here, where are you looking to go in terms of your music?
My thing is to do the unthinkable. I want to bring Staten Island back on the map. It’s not all about Wu-Tang, though Wu-Tang definitely put us on the map. There’s a lot of talent coming from New York but really no singers out here. It’s time for us to start rubbing our elbows again. I love rap and hip hop—I mean, I’m signed to a hip hop label—but as a singer, I’m looking for that good music with substance, that good talent. And what I want to do is represent my town really well. Like Staten Island, we’re in here too. ‘Cause when you think of Staten Island, you think of Shaolin, and we respect that—we gotta respect Wu, the pioneers—but Staten Island has a future too, and that’s my push.
When news broke that rap pioneer and Wu-tang member Raekwon signed R&B act Kofi Black to his label, the music blogosphere was spiked with curiosity on this young talent. Well, VIBE.com recently sat down the with Staten Island native to disseminate his musical style, relationship with Raekwon, and his ambitious, hustle-driven goals for the future. –Tanya Chen
After months of planning, conference calls, and site sees, we would like to congratulate the entire Sunseeker Media, Soul Train Holdings, and Centric TV team for yet another successful production of this year’s 2012 Soul Train Awards!
Held in the Entertainment Capital of the World and hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, our hope was to deliver a show that served as not only a sounding board to honor and commemorate the memory of Don Cornelius, but to take the brand’s mission of delivering the latest in music and dance once again into the living rooms of households nationwide.
The show kicked off with a star-studded red carpet that flooded into a show comprised of today’s hottest acts in entertainment. On a quest to “bring the soul to Vegas”, Cedric ushered appearances from Stevie Wonder, Billy Crystal, Donny and Marie Osmond, Magic Johnson, Kat Graham, TGT, Miguel, Leah Labelle, Fantasia, 2 Chainz, Charlie Wilson, Elle Varner, Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo (just to name a few), and literally no genre was left unrepresented.
The evening of honors continued as New Edition took the stage to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award while also celebrating their 30th Anniversary as a group. Later in the show they took the stage once more for a medley of their class hits “Telephone Man,” “Candy Girl,” and “If It Isn’t Love,” and if the crowd’s reaction was any indication of the group’s next 30 years, they still got it!
A special congratulation goes out to the night’s in-show award winners listed below – to check out their acceptance speeches and all of the night’s performances, be sure to check your local listings to catch an encore of the show!

Continuing on Kim Fields lived out her plan as promised and brought Holiday Love back for the 3rd time Titled: “Holiday Love: Re:Imagined”
New [this year] is [NY Times Best-Selling] author Karen Kingsbury and Dr. Shirley Caesar who sings an original song for the show, which we were blessed to produce for her,” said actress and director Kim Fields about her new television special “Holiday Love: Re-Imagined.” The show began airing December 16, 2012 in various cities and will run until the New Year.
Fields is best known for her role in the sitcom “Living Single” and as a director on BET’s “Let’s Stay Together.”
“Holiday Love: Re-Imagined” has Fields doing funny skits with Rickey Smiley in his recurring role as “The Delivery Man.” The show also offers performances by Yolanda Adams, Smokie Norful, Kenny Lattimore, Wess Morgan, Tye Tribbett and Ledisi.
“We released Tye Tribbett’s single, ‘Little Drummer Boy’ on iTunes. Everyone has their favorites,” Fields pointed out. “It’s scripted so they can have an idea of where the scenes are going, but we’re not trying to make you feel uncomfortable. I had Rickey for only five hours!”
This is Kim Fields third “holiday” special. “The last one was two hours— an extended cut,” Fields said about her normal one-hour show. “Each one takes three to three and a half days to shoot. We have fun, but we want to be efficient with everyone’s time. You get a sense of where you can cut the fat. We have an amazing crew, everyone is so professional.”
Kim said God gave her the idea for the holiday specials. It worked for her because she grew up on Dick Clark and Bob Hope television specials. “I was on an Andy Williams Special,” she said.
When asked about the message of the specials Fields answered, “The same joy, compassion and love we see during the Christmas holiday— have it 365, make God prominent 365!”
