Essence Festival Kick Off at the W Hotel Sponsored by African Pride and Curl Peace
The W Hotel was the perfect place to be on the 4th of July to kick off the Essence Festival. Upon entering the W Hotel from the cobblestone streets minutes from Bourbon Street was a tunnel of blue lights which led to a beautiful garden setting. The minute guests entered the building there was a beautiful rustic cart filled with African Pride and Peace Curl beauty products.
HBCU Alumni gathered together to ring in the 4th of July with everything “New Orleans Style.” The Chef prepared chicken & sausage jumbalaya, shrimp & grits, specialty fried chicken skewers and of course you can’t leave out the beignets.
As the night grew late as the wine and cocktails flowed freely firecrackers lit up the sky that could be seen all the way from the Riverfront. The best part of the night was seeing the pretigious guests pass through that were staying at the W Hotel. Singer Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles and her husband Richard Lawson, Marlon Wayans and others all passed through as they headed to the valet.
What a night to remember. Guests were so excited receiving their gold sack gift bags filled with products as they headed out to hit the New Orleans streets. I can’t wait to get home and wash my my hair and try out the new Curl Peace detangling hair product. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank Jamahl King with Steps Events for organizing such a wonderful evening.
