Cam Newton has a humanitarian side most people don’t know about

Screen Shot 2020-07-01 at 6.46.25 AMCam Newton has been very vocal on social media since the announcement that the Patriots has signed the Free Agent to a 1 year contract. Determined to prove to Carolina they really lost a really good dude Cam has made several videos expressing some pint up agression.

However, rarely has Cam neglected opportunity to pay it forward when it comes to kind deeds especially when a child is involved. Recently, in the midst of all the hoopla at the “Peak of his career the NFL quaterback Cam Newton heard a 10 year old boy had spent Christmas fighting a serious heart condition.

Two days later on his day off, he chartered a flight and flew out to surprise him. This is what happened when they met.

Twitter immediately reacts

These twitter comments really speak volume on how Cam’s fans really feel about him and the people who really know who Cam Newton is and what he stands for are not surprised at this good deed.

Fun Fact. Did you know that Cam’s Newton’s dad’s church is in Newnan, GA and Cam is often spotted in Fairburn at the local Cracker Barrell on Senoia Rd? It’s also not unlikely to spot Cam working out near Camp Creek. It’s not a good idea to prejudge Icons and NFL star like Cam Newton based on blogs and media reviews rather than knowing the side of their  heart.

What are your thoughts? Did you always know that Cam Newton was a stand up kind of dude or did you get caught up with the media’s portrayal of Cam being a selfish know it all Diva?

The Photograph staring Issa Rae & LaKeith Stanfield – the perfect Romance Dramedy

Screen Shot 2020-02-17 at 10.08.09 PMWent to see The Photograph today after reading a handful of great reviews even though they had me after I had seen the trailer. I love a great love story & Valentine’s Day (even after having no specific Valentine for the past 12 years). Issa Rae & LaKeith did an amazing acting job of really making the audience feel like they are both in love in real life.

The writer/director Stella Meghie of this film Stella did an amazing job of telling a story line without adding too much drama or conflict to detract from the “love line” of the story. A great job of flip flopping back and forth through two different time eras and telling two love stories of two different generations of women at once. There were a lot of moments in the movie that made the audience look at their own personal love life (looking at their relationship with their own mom), their ability to take a chance on love or wonder why they aren’t willing to take chances on love. The 51st NAACP Image Awards Are OUT – Cast Your Vote!

Deadline News was the first media outlet that I saw to release coverage regarding the 51st NAACP Image Awards. You have no idea the joy that permeated through my body when I saw my girl Logan Browning nominated for Dear White People (it seems like just yesterday she was attending her first NAACP Image Awards Show and after 15 minutes on the red carpet she was ready to go to her seat.

It was amazing to see Kimberly Latrice Jones nominated in the Literary category when it seems like just yesterday she was telling me about how she overcame her battle with cancer 4 times and how Dr Sebi helped save her life. My heart dropped to see writer Cas Beedles nominated for the second time for her brilliant writing (BET) Twas the Chaos Before Christmas. Are all these precious moments the true meaning of my cup runneth over? Continue reading The 51st NAACP Image Awards Are OUT – Cast Your Vote!

The public, black twitter and actors were not happy when the 2020 Oscar Nominee list was revealed. It’s seems the #OscarsSoWhite remains #SoWhite as there was still a total lack of diversity not only in the actor/actress categories but also in the Director, Music and Screenplay nominations.

The consensus was the sure way for an African American to be considered for an Oscar nodd would be to star in a film about slavery and storylines that depict the oppression  of Black people. Ironically Cynthia Erivo is not only getting flack for his nomination but she also received alot of flack from the African American Community because of being Brittish and being chosen for the role of Black America’s honored and beloved Harriett Tubman.

Personally, the Producer’s Channel is so proud of Cynthia Erivo for the outstanding acting she displayed in the film Harriet and if anyone of these people criticizing even saw the film they would have to agree that she definitely earned her Oscar nomination and we will be rooting for her all the way to the finish line for the win!

Be sure to tune in to the Academy Awards show Feb 9th as we await Cynthia Erivo walking off that stage with her Oscar in hand! Check your tv guide for local listing and time. Here is the full list of 2020 Oscar nominations: Continue reading Cynthia Erivo Only Black Female Actress to receive Oscar nomination for Best Actress & Original song for ‘Harriet’

LaKeith Stanfield vs Charlamagne tha God- Beefing or discreprency?

Screen Shot 2019-11-19 at 9.25.28 AM.pngRecently in the media the back and forth (black on black) discreprency between author/media mogul Charlamagne tha God (Leonard) and actor/artist LaKeith Stanfield; the two have been lashing out, well actually Leonard lashed out about a disturbing accusation. Charlamagne tha God took high offense to LaKeith Stanfield naming the Breakfast Club amongst media outlets Lipstick Alley, World Star Hip Hop and the ShadeRoom accused of perpetuating the negative when it comes to Black Folk (my interpretation).

LaKeith who plays the character Darius on FX show Atlanta wrote on Instagram  (please click link to see entire quote. In short on Wednesday Stanfield posted the following: Continue reading LaKeith Stanfield vs Charlamagne tha God- Beefing or discreprency?
