Well you heard it almost first on the Producer’s Channel TV. Kanye West Announcing Thangs Via Twitter? What in the World. Would she be able to write off any of this for her 2012 Taxes?
What kind of projects are you working on right now? Is there an album in the works?
I’m working on another mixtape and my album. I’m writing and working for a lot of people like Ryan Leslie, Sean Kingston, 9th Wonder, Busta Rhymes, and Rick Ross.
From here, where are you looking to go in terms of your music?
My thing is to do the unthinkable. I want to bring Staten Island back on the map. It’s not all about Wu-Tang, though Wu-Tang definitely put us on the map. There’s a lot of talent coming from New York but really no singers out here. It’s time for us to start rubbing our elbows again. I love rap and hip hop—I mean, I’m signed to a hip hop label—but as a singer, I’m looking for that good music with substance, that good talent. And what I want to do is represent my town really well. Like Staten Island, we’re in here too. ‘Cause when you think of Staten Island, you think of Shaolin, and we respect that—we gotta respect Wu, the pioneers—but Staten Island has a future too, and that’s my push.
When news broke that rap pioneer and Wu-tang member Raekwon signed R&B act Kofi Black to his label, the music blogosphere was spiked with curiosity on this young talent. Well, VIBE.com recently sat down the with Staten Island native to disseminate his musical style, relationship with Raekwon, and his ambitious, hustle-driven goals for the future. –Tanya Chen
The song, from the Braxton Family Values star, shot past radio staples from juggernauts such as Rihanna, will.i.am, and Taylor Swift to claim the #2 spot on the iTunes overall songs chart. Meanwhile, it surpassed tracks from Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo to become #1 on the store’s R&B/Soul chart. Braxton’s success isn’t limited to the states though. ”Love and War” hit #8 on iTunes UK’s overall songs chart.
At 9 a.m. ET today (Dec 6th), urban stations across the country began playing ”Love and War” every hour through 11 p.m. local time, making it one of the most added at the format this week.
This soulful gem marks the entrepreneur, television producer, star and actress’ return to music since the release of her debut, Tamar, in 2000. It also is the first song from her forthcoming full-length album due out in early 2013.
Well the moment we have all been waiting for is here. The BIG Acting Debut AGAIN for Kim K. It’s good to see Lance Gross included and Brandy Norwood. I can’t wait for March to get here. Too bad this film wasn’t ready for a Christmas release. Tyler Perry’s camp just released the new trailer for his new film titled Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor. The film formerly titled The Marriage Counselor stars Jurnee Smollett, Lance Gross, Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Williams, Robbie Jones, Brandy Norwood, and Ella Joyce.
The synopsis again reads:
The film tells the story of Judith, an Ivy League-educated relationship expert who makes her living dispensing marital advice, but is so bored with her own marriage that she breaks her professional code and cheats with a smooth talking client only to realize she has made a huge mistake.
Smollett will star as said marriage counselor “Judith,” while Gross will play her husband; Jones will play “smooth talking client” who has an affair with Smollett; Williams will play the owner of the firm where Smollett practices; Brandy will play Gross’ co-worker; and Kardashian will play Smollett’s friend and co-worker.

According to Coming Soon, Showtime has hired Ridley Scott to direct the pilot episode of the network’s upcoming drama, The Vatican. The show is described as being “a provocative contemporary genre thriller about spirituality, power and politics – set against the modern-day political machinations within the Catholic church.”
Writer Paul Attanasio (House M.D., Quiz Show, Donnie Brasco) has already written the script for the hour-long show, which the network is hoping will turn into a series. This will be the first time Scott has worked on a TV series since the ‘60s, when he was mostly a set designer in the United Kingdom. We’ll have more information on The Vatican as it becomes available.
