Behind The Scenes – Sunseeker Team Follows Cedric (aka RON Cornelius) The Entertainer At The Soul Train Awards

After months of planning, conference calls, and site sees, we would like to congratulate the entire Sunseeker Media, Soul Train Holdings, and Centric TV team for yet another successful production of this year’s 2012 Soul Train Awards!

Held in the Entertainment Capital of the World and hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, our hope was to deliver a show that served as not only a sounding board to honor and commemorate the memory of Don Cornelius, but to take the brand’s mission of delivering the latest in music and dance once again into the living rooms of households nationwide.

The show kicked off with a star-studded red carpet that flooded into a show comprised of today’s hottest acts in entertainment. On a quest to “bring the soul to Vegas”, Cedric ushered appearances from Stevie Wonder, Billy Crystal, Donny and Marie Osmond, Magic Johnson, Kat Graham, TGT, Miguel, Leah Labelle, Fantasia, 2 Chainz, Charlie Wilson, Elle Varner, Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo (just to name a few), and literally no genre was left unrepresented.

The evening of honors continued as New Edition took the stage to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award while also celebrating their 30th Anniversary as a group. Later in the show they took the stage once more for a medley of their class hits “Telephone Man,” “Candy Girl,” and “If It Isn’t Love,” and if the crowd’s reaction was any indication of the group’s next 30 years, they still got it!
