Atlanta’s highly esteemed fundraising event, the UNCF’s Masked Ball, took place in 2023. Playing host to the event were distinguished figures such as Mayor Andre Dickens, Andrew Young, Maurice E. Jenkins (Executive VP of UNCF), Therese Badon (Senior VP of UNCF), and Justine Boyd (Assistant VP of UNCF). This year commemorates the grand gala’s 40th anniversary, originally inaugurated in 1983 by Andrew Young and Billye Aaron. The primary objective of this event is to raise awareness regarding the paramount significance of higher education and provide unwavering support to the exceptional students of the UNCF.
There are currently 18 other cities that host similar ceremonies. This prestigious gala also pays homage to the esteemed Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that have been achieving groundbreaking milestones since 1944. Upon arrival, handpicked guests were cordially invited to attend the exclusive VIP reception held on the lower level of the Atrium at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Sponsors were granted access to a private room where they had the privilege of capturing memorable moments through photos with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and the President of the UNCF, Dr. Michael Lomax.
Spotted in the ballroom was The Super Lawyer Reginald A. Green and his beautiful wife Zyaire Greene, Q Parker and Sharlinda Parker, Ronnie Devoe and Shamari Devoe, Dolapoe Erinkitola, Sam Burston, Mimi Johnson, Commissioner Natalie Hall District 4, and a host of other Atlanta celebrities and taste-makers.
The grand procession commenced precisely at 7pm, captivating the audience as they entered the resplendent ballroom. Gracing the event as the esteemed title sponsor, UPS, along with influential brands such as Nike, Google, Coca Cola, Georgia Power, Delta Airlines, Edward Jones, City of Atlanta Watershed, and many others, were announced one by one, filling the air with anticipation. Radiant in her role as the evening’s emcee, WSB-TV news anchor Karyn Greer welcomed everyone with open arms, setting the stage for a truly enchanting night. The crowd erupted in applause as Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens took center stage, igniting the energy in the room. With gracious words, Mayor Andre Dickens acknowledged the esteemed presence of Dr. Michael Lomax, the President of UNCF, and the illustrious Ambassador Andrew Young, adding an extra touch of prestige to the already magical atmosphere.
A video recording was presented to the audience featuring Ms. Billye Aaron, who expressed her profound regret for not being able to attend the event in person. She conveyed that she was in Las Vegas, accepting an esteemed award on behalf of her late husband, the renowned Hank Aaron. Despite her immense gratitude for the millions of dollars that had been raised over the years, Ms. Aaron voiced her utmost aspiration for the future: to raise $5 million in a single year. Mayor Dickens proudly announced, “I am delighted to announce that we have successfully raised over $2.3 million for this evening, setting a new record as the highest amount ever raised in the history of the United Negro College Fund.”
The event raised over $3 million in total. UPS contributed $1 million at the end of the night. It was an amazing evening with a fantastic live performance by Stephanie Mills. She sang some classic songs like “Home,” “A Rush on Me,” and “Never Knew Love Like This.” It was a nostalgic experience for the crowd.
Evangeline McCray Ascap Published Songwriter Interviews with Jonell
Who is Evangeline McCray?
Evangeline McCray, an aspiring songwriter, has been writing music since the tender age of 17. Songwriting has always been a passion of hers. However, after reaching the age of 40, she decided to take her craft seriously and join the publishing company ASCAP to officialize her work.
Let me give you a little history on Evangeline McCray.
Evangeline McCray, born in Opelika, Alabama, is a dope jazz songwriter who’s got a totally unique style. When she writes songs, she always adds a catchy melody to go along with the lyrics. Her music hits you right in the feels and makes you feel all sorts of emotions. She’s got three siblings, so music has always been a big part of her family. When she was a kid, her dad used to take them to see all kinds of different artists, like the legendary James Brown. Those experiences really inspired her to start writing her own music.
Evangeline has been fortunate enough to work with some amazing talents along the way. She had the incredible Linda Boston singing and co-arranging the female version of her song “Golden Eyes,” while William Green joined forces for the male version. These collaborations, along with the help of Willie Hill, Samuel Haygood, Leonard Julien III, Toni Byrd, Regina Troupe, Levelle, the late “Blues Doctor,” Linda Boston (yes, she’s that awesome!), and Warren Marvin Lankford, have made her songwriting dreams come true.
When you listen to Evangeline’s music, it’s like taking a trip down memory lane. Her melodies will transport you to a time and place that feels oh-so-familiar. So, kick back, relax, and let her melodious tunes work their magic on you. Enjoy the ride! Rock on!
Danny Glover and 2x NBA Champ Josh Powell totally rocked it at Beyond the Game, a dope nonprofit organization created by the amazing Dr. Chanita Foster. Her fam has been watching and joining in on her Africa adventures for like, over a decade, ’cause she’s got mad love for the people there.
This year-end annual fundraiser party was thrown by AngelRae Entertainment at Sea Salt Seafood in Atlanta, GA, off Howell Mill Rd. Everyone was super hyped to drop off their stuff after strutting down the fancy red carpet, welcomed by a bunch of media people and photographers.
2x NBA Champion Josh Powell just released a new book.

The Hand, Heart and Soul Project is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing Clayton County by enhancing access to quality education, nutrition, and community resources.
“I WISH THEY HAD A CENTER LIKE THIS WHEN I HAD MY FIRST SON! The program has been amazing for me and my daughter. I feel a different type of closeness in learning how to better interact with her day-day,” exclaims one of the parents.
Through a successful partnership with the United Way of Greater Atlanta, the organization has established several ‘Learning Spaces’ centers specifically designed for child care providers, caregivers, and children aged 0-5.
These innovative learning centers are staffed with committed teachers who not only educate the children but also empower the parents to develop healthy eating habits, engage in workshops, storytelling sessions, playtime, exercise, and even practice yoga. “We recognized the critical importance of early development,” Ben Mitchell (Education Outreach Coordinator for Hand Heart and Soul). She also emphasized the fact that training provided between the ages of 0-5 can shape behavioral patterns and lay the foundation for lifelong success.
Each ‘Learning Spaces’ center offers 2 hours of daily availability. Upon joining the program, parents, caretakers, or caregivers gain access to 2 hours per day from Monday to Friday, during which they must be present alongside their child. Drop-offs are not permitted, as the organization believes in the significance of meaningful engagement between the child and their daily caregiver. The grand opening of the centers witnessed the participation of numerous parents and children, eager to celebrate and partake in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The United Way of Greater Atlanta, a key supporter of the Hand Heart and Soul Project, sent representatives to the event. Notable attendees included Travis Amsterdam (Community Organizer), Magdalena Perez (Project Manager, Family Engagement & Leadership), Cerrice Dawson (Senior Director of Early Learning), Patrice Laird (Learning Spaces Partnerships Manager), and Cori Cain (Associate Vice President, Strong Learners).
To further engage interested parents, the project hosts a special orientation every Friday. The seventeen ‘Learning Spaces’ centers are strategically located across Cobb, Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, and Fulton counties. Additionally, Hand Heart and Soul strongly advocates for the farm-to-table approach to foster healthy eating habits within the community. Can you blame her?
Wednesday nights can’t come fast enough! It’s 9pm and I’ve already taken my bath, ate dinner, got on my new pajamas and I am ready for the drama. Zac is really doing the most considering he has an entire fiancรฉ who by the way isn’t wearing her ring anymore.
Karen is working my nerves as she is treating this entire Zac “nice treatment” situation or should we call it the “Karen pity party” like she hit the lotto & not showing any sadness anymore for the fact that her entire salon is in shambles. This just goes to show that she used Aaron for company, simply so she could say she has a piece of a man.
Andi can see right through it and feels bad for her friend Fatima as she should. Fatima is so over Zac. She put her heart on the line totally deciding to trust again and what does Zac do? He folds like a chair at a card table. I am thoroughly disappointed in Zac and his lack of compassion for his fiancรฉ’s feelings and didn’t give her two seconds to allow Fatima to console him because he was too busy kicking dust in everyone’s face while taking off for the salon at the mere thought that something could have happened to Karen.
On last night’s show Zac even admitting to loving Karen. He didn’t even state “someone that I used to love.” He sat there in Fatima’s face and said he loved Karen more than his own Mama. That’s deep. I would have taken the ring off too and threw it in the backyard in the bushes. I’m hoping Fatima can be strong and swallow this gut punch from Zac. The most terrible part is Zac is walking around like he is oblivious to Fatima’s feelings or what this new found compassion for Karen is doing to Fatima and all onlookers.
Haden. He definitely deserved his own sentence. I can’t believe this man married this girl he barely knows and I have a feeling if he tries to break out of this And will represent her and take Haden for everything. Every week the plot thickens and I am here for “As the world turns” ONLY in Atlanta.
What was your favorite part of the show tonight? I loved when Andi Sr 40 years later walked in wearing the pink designer suit and both the ladies saw their entire lives flash before there eyes as she fast tracked the outcome of their lives in about a 10minute summary of her miserable 30 year marriage.
I hate we have to wait 6 whole days for the next episode. Tune in at 9pm next Wednesday night for the hit series ‘Sistas’ on BET

BAUX THE ARTIST prides himself on being raised in a household where several types of music were acceptable from R & B, rap, pop, soul, afro beats, and overall any type of great music was acceptable. Growing up in Mississippi it’s not uncommon that his humble beginnings and introduction to music would be grounded in the church. We are talking about the old school type of church where it was all all day affair.
It was because of the early inception of church, family, low economics, combined with good music and cookouts, this is what built strong communities of people who were forced to lean on each other. During these times there was truly strong story-telling going on in rhythm and blues, country music and later rap musicians started to imitate these models but perhaps went a little too far when they started to tell on themselves especially crimes that were being committed in their rap songs. This isn’t always the case in rap, but as the world changes the secular authorities are starting to hold artists accountable to the lyrics they produce.
“How do we change the current narrative of the culture?” “Why is it important to have a personal team”, “How can we avoid money missing and improper paperwork in contracts? asks Baux in a recent sit down interview he did with Rolling Out Magazine. Check out his answer in the video at the end of this article.
Baux also mentions his new single ‘Mannish’ which he is currently pushing from his new EP titled ‘GUMBO’. Why GUMBO? Well mainly because this artist cannot be placed in a box! (No pun intended). Music lovers will be receiving afro-beats, country, pop, R & B music, hip hop and more. Check out Baux the artist! Steaming on all platforms
‘Born to Win’ is the mindset his mom always instilled in his heart and now Frederick R Best inspires others through his 12 books
Frederick R. Best penned the book ‘They said I wouldnโt make it,โ and is currently shopping his book for a biopic documentary. The book was previously turned into a hit stage play. This is one of the 12 books inked by Best. The father, motivational speaker and pastor was born in Bethel, N.C with muscular and skeletal deformities.
At birth, his kneecaps were backwards and his knees could not be bent. His left arm is not fully formed and he has limited use of his right hand. These were physical challenges he would physically be affected by his entire life. It was definitely the love and encouragement from his mom who made him feel that he was capable of all accomplishments he sought after. She encouraged Best to never look at his circumstances as a disability but to live from his heart and mind. This is how Frederick Best learned to develop the mindset that he was no different than anybody else.
Being able to triumph over the toughest of hardships and triumphs are feats that Best credits to “the power of God.” He makes it his intentional purpose to inspire everyone he meets and plant the seeds that show people “they were born to win” regardless of their circumstances. Best’s physical defects were caused by Thalidomide, a drug his mother had taken for morning sickness.
This drug originated in Hamburg, Germany in 1956. The first baby born to thalidomide was the result of a test drug given to women to help with morning sickness. They told everyone the drug was completely safe. No one knew the drug would later cause over 20,000 babies to be born with birth defects. By 1961 Two and a half million pills were handed out to doctors to pass out to patients. Thalidomide started out in the United States as a trial test but years later it was discovered this drug that caused thousands of fetal abnormalities was never approved in the United States.
The one thing Best always did while growing up was train his mindset to focus on the things he did have rather than what he didn’t have; and he embraced what he was able to do instead of focusing on the negative. His attitude enabled him to call himself the ambassador of hope.
15 million pills per month were being sold in Germany. There was an astounding number of babies born with deformities all linked to thalidomide. It wasnโt until 1961 that 67,000 doctors were sent letters to all the doctors warning against the use of this drug; but it wasnโt until the press got a hold of this until the drug stopped being administered.ย ย
Raised in a very poor environment, his mom eventually lost all 15 of her kids to social services and they were all separated and placed in foster care. Nothing deterred Dr.Frederick R Best from the thought of putting his family back together. When he turned legal age he set out on this life mission to find his family and eventually got every last one of his living siblings out of foster care and under his legal guardianship, even his mother.
“She taught and trained me over the years to never let anyone treat me as though I was handicapped. My mother always encouraged me to never let anyone put a label on me. She taught me that being handicapped was a state of mind, and not a state of being.โ – Frederick R Best
Thalidomide is still being made and currently a drug to treat leprosy and cancer. In Germany there was a multi-million dollar settlement reached along with an apology after 50 years from the creator of the drug. According to several reports thalidomide babies are still being born. Today the value of this drug has soared to 1oo billion dollars. Thalidomide survivors are not happy with just an apology and there are about 40 women who have never been compensated for anything from the lawsuit.
Available on Amazon.com
Frederick R Best is now shopping his book ‘ They said I wouldn’t make it’ to tell his story and offer hope as he is still alive, and his best days are spent raising his son, writing books, and spreading hope. As the fourth son of fifteen siblings, his biggest desire is for his story to be told across the world and inspire others to never give up regardless of their circumstances because everyone is born to win.

Courtney Ward Thompkins
Courtney Ward-Thompkins
Producer, writer and content creator of scripted and unscripted television Courtney Ward-Thompkins is not afraid to live her dreams out loud. After interning with LaFace records she discovered her love for working in the entertainment industry. It’s not uncommon for someone who started in the music industry to navigate their way into the world of film and television.
Once Thompkins paved her way in the film industry through obtaining several titles such as production secretary, production manager , production coordinator, travel coordinator, doing overnights, and the list goes on. She was able to learn the in’s and outs of the industry; the do’s and what not to do and felt the urgency to share her knowledge with others. She believed all the information she obtained over the years would be extremely beneficial to newcomers just starting out to help them better navigate their way through the industry. Camping , Glamping & Jammin Overnight Festival Returns to the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers on August 27th With Slutty Vegan Food Truck
“During the pandemic I went to a drive-in movie theater that played old movies and films that most people weren’t familiar with. However, the drive-in was full to capacity and the cars kept coming. People were partying around their cars and not really paying attention to the movies. I immediately thought if this was a concert instead of these movies it would be off the chain,” – Mark Skeete
Glam Out Your Tent Any Way You Like!
Camping , Glamping, & Jammin Atlanta’s only overnight music festival is an idea that was brought to fruition when event founder Mark Skeete came to the realization that he was already surrounded by a community of people who enjoy partying under the stars all night long. All he needed to do was execute the process to get things rolling.
“During the pandemic I went to a drive-in movie theater that played old movies and films that most people weren’t familiar with. However, the drive-in was full to capacity and the cars kept coming. People were partying around their cars and not really paying attention to the movies. I immediately thought if this was a concert instead of these movies it would be off the chain,” exclaims Mark Skeete.
It was at that very moment Skeete realized that he could capitalize on the drive-in movie audience but instead, he could offer a new concept and came up with the overnight drive-in festival, “camping, glamping & jammin.” This would be a drive-in concert, stand-up comedy show, silent after party and more. It would take place from sundown to sunrise, 6pm until 6am. DATDRIVEIN was created and “camping, glamping & jammin” became the staple event.
This event aims to introduce the culture to a new experience. It’s an alternative to the club that allows for a group of attendees to congregate outdoors within the confines of their own space, a campsite, tent, car or RV. Attendees can catch a concert, comedy show, dance, sing, laugh, eat, sleep, wake up and party some more. Not intended to be the boy’s scouts camp of yesterday, some attendees’ tents are decorated with blow up couches, living rooms and queen size mattresses, and bedrooms. It’s better than some folks’ homes . You can glam your tent out anyway you like for a chance to win a Free Slutty Vegan meal at ‘Camping Glamping & Jammin’. That’s right! This year the crew with the best tricked out tent receives a free Slutty Vegan Meal package for up to 5 people.

Owner Ebony Austin receives Proclamation from the Mayor of Jonesboro declaring July 25th Official “Ebony Austin Day” for all her work in the community through philanthropy.
City Manager Ricky L Clark, Mayor Joy B Day, Owner Ebony Austin
The City of Jonesboro will truly be changed forever after the Grand Opening of Nouveau @ Broad Street in Jonesboro, GA. The opening of this restaurant is part of the ‘Broad Street Project’ to bring Black businesses back to downtown Jonesboro. On July 25th we entered the building of the new restaurant (after we made a pit stop at the Stella Rosa Wine truck for samples of their new flavors); but once we were checked in we couldn’t help but notice that on the wall was a beautiful media mural that captured the moments from the beginning of Owner Ebony Austin’s journey from Chicago to the historical city of College Park on Main street where she birthed her first official Nouveau Bar & Grill location. We spotted “The Producer’s Channel TV’ on the wall and we were totally not only caught off guard but honored that our work of recognizing amazing restaurants had not gone unnoticed. We were truly grateful and honored.
Host of the evening Yung Joc stops by the Stella Rosa Pop Up Tasting BarGuest, NIVEA, Jazzy B
The VIP escort/bodyguard ushered us into the VIP room where we were served Grey Goose Essence cocktails (Strawberry & Lemonade), and delicious cupcakes. The location used to be a firehouse but the way they transformed the building was truly amazing. Looking out the glassdoors there was a beautiful stage & a lawn filled with tables and people who were so excited to be in this black owned venue which truly represented Black Excellence.

The show started with an amazing performance by the Jonesboro High School Band. Afterwards the Owner of Nouveau, a beautiful Black female business woman Ebony Austin presented the Jonesboro High School Band leader with a check for the band for $5000.00. The team was so elated. They also had a special announcement: They were invited to perform at the White House for 4th of July celebration in 2022.
After the Mayor totally shocked everyone reading the Proclamation from the City of Jonesboro to Ebony Austin and stating that July 25th will Officially be ‘Ebony Austin Day’ in the city of Jonesboro. There wasn’t a dry eye on the stage or in the audience as everyone was truly surprised of the growth of this Southside of Chicago native business woman. Congratulations Ebony!

Now it was time for the real show to begin: BET’s Encore cast member Nivea opened up the show and she looked amazing! There was a little mic trouble but she just kept right on singing. Next up was the singer RL, formerly of the group NEXT. RL took us right down memory lane with songs we love love to sing. From hits he wrote ending with “WIFEY”. Then we learned a fun fact that ‘Lil Mo’ was actually singing background.
RL SingerLil Mo sings Happy Birthday to Nouveau Owner’s Sister
The night ended with an amazing performance by ‘ Lil Mo’. I almost forgot Lil Mo was a triple threat! She’s not only an amazing singer and rapper, Lil Mo is an all around entertainer/radio host with personality bursting through the ceiling. After her dynamic performance Yung Joc ‘the MC’ of the night, kindly took the mic back and called Ms. Shyneka to the stage. Joc challenged Ms Shyneka to a friendly karaoke contest & I think Joc might have won that round esp since Ms Shyneka was lipsynching . Next they found someone in the audience who was having relationship issues to prove “The Love Doc Joc” was real with his advice.

Before we end this article, we can’t forget to mention the food was absolutely amazing! It was being passed out all night long. There was the Spinach Dip, Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp, Salmon, Crab meat & Grits, and Buffalo Shrimp w Blue Cheese were the samples the guests got to choose from. Rave reviews were coming from people all around as the table talk banter continued all night long.
Everyone thought that Volvo Cars of Marietta had their XC60 Black 2021 vehicle out on the side of the stage as a give away prize. I soon realized it was one of the branded sponsors for the event. Oh what an amazing night. Please check out the photos in the gallery.

BASED ON THE UNTOLD TRUE STORY OF BLACK FARMER JOHN BOYD JR. AND LAWYER JAMES FARRIN WHO WORKED TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE JUSTICE FOR BLACK FARMERS IN AMERICA
Los Angeles, CA, June 10, 2021 – Today,CMNTY Culture, a Black-owned entertainment and media enterprise founded by eight-time GRAMMY award-winning songwriter Philip Lawrence, announced its first film project, The Last Plantation, via its film/ TV vertical, CMNTY Culture Films. CMNTY Culture will be the lead production company on The Last Plantation, an untold true story chronicling one of the largest civil rights settlements in history. Hunt Lowry(A Time to Kill, Last of the Mohicans) of Roserock Films and Jesse Kennedy (Brooklynโs Finest, Stolen) are signed on to produce the film, joined by Philip Lawrence, CMNTY Culture Chief Operating Officer/ Chief Legal Officer Miles Cooley, CMNTY Culture CEO Thomas St. John, and main character/ lawyerJames Farrin as executive producers.
Written by Tyger Williams (Menace II Society, Self Made: Madam C.J. Walker), The Last Plantation follows Black soybean farmer, John Boyd Jr., and white car accident attorney, James Farrin, as they overcome long odds and Washington gridlock to obtain a $1.25 billion settlement for over 18,000 Black farmers who had been discriminated against by the U.S. government. For years, the USDA routinely treated Black farmers unjustly, earning it the unfortunate nickname โthe last plantation.โ
โWith its underlying themes of racial justice and social equity, โThe Last Plantationโ showcases everything that CMNTY Culture stands for. Itโs an important story to tell, not only because of its historical context, but also because it points to how we can come together to address social issues and injustices, even in a polarized world,โ said CMNTY Culture Founder and Chairman, Philip Lawrence. โWe couldnโt be happier to launch our film/ TV vertical with such an inspiring project and hope that it helps shed some much-overdue light on the often-neglected plight of Black farmers in America.โ
The premise of the film aligns closely with CMNTY Cultureโs mission of promoting and advancing racial equity, social justice, and diversity/inclusion in all aspects of its business, which includes film/TV, music, music publishing, and real estate. Philip Lawrence founded the company in 2019 alongside a visionary group of accomplished leaders: Thomas St. John, Founder of Thomas St. John Group; Miles Cooley, formerly DLA Piper; Marlena Kaplan, formerly Blackstone; Malik Rasheed, formerly Epic Records; and Chief Johnson, formerly PUMA Group.

We are watching our girl Issa Rae grow up right before our very eyes. She went from the Awkward Black Girl to being insecure & now she will be swinging off buildings? This is just how awesome you can be when you are a black girl who rocks!
The Hollywood Reporter explained it so eloquently:
Rae will join returning actors Shameik Moore, who voiced the filmโs hero Miles Morales, and Hailee Steinfeld who played Gwen Stacy, a.k.a. Spider-Gwen. Both actors have already confirmed they will appear in the sequel which, after multiple reschedules, is now set to arrive in theaters on October 7th, 2022. Rae is the first new addition to be announced.
Little is known about the sequelโs plot, but itโs safe to assume that it will have a similar, multiverse structure as Into the Spider-Verse. In the Oscar-winning film, a young Brooklyn kid named Miles Morales becomes the new Spider-Man and acclimates to the role with a little help from other Spider characters across multiple universes. John Mulaney plays a pig who was bitten by a spider and now goes by the name Spider-Ham, and Nicholas Cage turns in a memorable performance as an old-school, Humphrey Bogart-esque Spider-Man known as Spider-Man Noir.
To put it simply, Into the Spider-Verse blew peopleโs minds when it first came out. Pretty much everyone from Barack Obama to Kevin Smith praised the film for its heart, humor, and comic book-come-to-life quality of animation. Even MCUโs Spider-Man and Esquire cover star Tom Holland gave the film a glowing review, writing on Instagram, “Honestly one of the coolest films I’ve ever seen. Do yourself a favor and go see this movie.”
As for the sequelโs closely guarded plot, some have suggested that the presence of Spider-Woman means that the film might include a visit to one of MCUโs most important landscapes, Wundagore Mountain. You see, Spider-Woman, who made her Marvel debut in 1977, grew up on Wundagore Mountain after moving there with her family from London when she was a young girl. You know who else is from Wundagore Mountain? Quicksilver and his twin the Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda. Does that mean weโll be getting an Elizabeth Olsen cameo in the Into the Spider-Verse sequel?? Probably not, but who the hell knows!
Just like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the follow-up film exists in a separate universe than the MCU Spider-Man films, but that doesnโt mean a future, potential collaboration that melds the two worlds is entirely out of the question. When it comes to Spider-Woman, the two studios could reach an agreement that allows them to share the rights to the character, just like they did in regards to Tom Hollandโs Spider-Man films. But as of now, both Sony and Marvel are developing their own separate takes on Spider-Woman. As Esquireโs own Brady Langmann reported recently, Emilia Clarke is rumored to have been cast in the role of Spider-Woman in Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, Secret Invasion.

Black Rob has passed away in an Atlanta hospital days after saying his farewell to DMX. He suffered a stroke in 2015. Allegedly he had suffered problems from his failing kidneys for the past 5 years. DJ Self was posting videos of Black Rob for the past week per Rob’s request in efforts to let people know what was going on in his life. In the video he appeared to be in a lot of pain and disgusted because of lack of funds to provide sufficient housing for himself. He complained about being in pain.
There were blogs that released information about Sean Combs sending money to help out the rapper. RIP to another Hip Hop artist who once was taking over the streets of New York. Black Rob was also once on the Bad Boy roster as one of Diddy’s artists.

What started off as an attempt to collect towels for at least 300 people for the Homeless Shelter “The Joseph House of Camden” turned into over 1000 towels and blankets as well being collected from people who donated all over the world.
Those who were not able to come in and donate locally actually asked for the address and mailed in their donations. Others were able to contribute funds through a donation button located on Lashaun Drew’s facebook page. Vinny Curry (defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles) was even able to spread the word through his social media story. When you are collecting goods for any drive, it stands true everyone’s efforts to spread the word is a good deed done.
The towels will be delivered in the month of March. Please check back for updates. Job well done Lashaun Drew & congrats on the bravery to open up a new business during these pandemic times. You are the real M.V.P.

Minutes after the Houston Eater posted an article expressing how 2020 was a “devastating year for Houston’s restaurant industry” ; news also broke that Dennis McKinley will continue his Houston takeover with the opening of CBD-focused lounge in Downtown.
In August of 2020 McKinley also opened an Original Hot Dog Factory in Houston and he appears to be setting up double shops in cities worldwide. The CRU LOUNGE is very popular in Atlanta. One decade ago the first CRU LOUNGE opened and 2020 seems to be the year that McKinley has been on franchise fire.
Atlanta just opened a new CRU Lounge on Edgewood open 7 days a week until 4am. The streets of Edgewood are known for heavy foot traffic. Restaunteur Pinky Cole also opened a new Slutty Vegan location on Edgewood as well. Apparently this is one of the restaurant row hotspots in the streets of Atlanta.
Best wishes to Dennis McKinley from the Producers Channel. We also got wind that CRU Lounge will be opening a location in Washington DC on inauguration day on 316 H Street January 21, 2021. “Don’t meet us there,” says McKinley.
Reality TV exploded during the pandemic but unscripted TV played a huge part in keeping broadcast netsworks afloat.

Attorney Reginal Greene and his beautiful six children
ATTORNEY REGINALD GREENE KNOWN BY HIS SOBRIQUET ‘THE SUPER LAWYER’ IS ALSO A SUPER DAD
Father of six, attorney Reginald Greene is the founder, managing member and managing attorney of Greene Legal Group, LLC. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree, magna cum laude, from Howard University at the age of 20. He also received his Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude, from Howard University Law School. Being a successful businessman has not detracted from his fatherly duties in the least bit.
One may wonder how does a full-time lawyer with his own practice manage to stay at the top of his game while also managing to be a hands on Dad when fatherhood is also full-time duty work? It’s inevitable Reginald Greene implements the same level of care, life-skills, experience and commitment when it comes to fatherhood that he uses when it comes to representing clients and winning cases. How so you might ask?
The Producers Channel TV reporters were able to catch up with the “Super Dad” and ask some very pertinent questions. Pay attention to how important parenting is to this accomplished Dad and professional business owner.
How important do you think a Dad’s Role is in a child’s life?
A Dad’s role in a child’s life is extremely important. A good father is a leader, teacher and guide. He provides time, attention, love, support and discipline. He can also be a role model. Ultimately a mother and father have distinct roles.
Do any of your children aspire to be a lawyer?
My oldest son, Reginald Jr. is in law school. He graduates next year.
How do you balance being the Super Lawyer & Super Dad?
It’s simple I put everything in this order. God. Family. Justice. There is a delicate balance between work and home life. Throughout my career as a lawyer I have always been striving to balance. Early in my career, I had a lot to learn. In my work life, I allowed work to consume a significant amount of my time. As years went on I was able to increase my family time significantly. For me, becoming my own boss was key. That gave me the most flexibility to balance my work and family life.
Do the daily tasks in the life of being “The Super Lawyer” make you feel like a Super Hero?
Absolutely. When people seek my advice, it is usually some situation involving distress or tragedy. My job is to get the best possible outcome and “save the day”… just like a super hero.
Speaking of being a Super Hero. I believe it was right before your oldest daughter’s left for college, you accompanied her to ‘Ryan Cameron’s Father Daughter Dance’ in Atlanta, GA at the Delta Hangar. Why do girls need to understand and experience the depth of love from a father or father figure?
A father is usually a girl’s first love. That relationship will have a significant impact on how she allows herself to be treated in life and in relationships with men. A father must make sure to teach his daughter her worth and what she should and should not tolerate.
How vital to a child’s future is it for parents to instill setting life goals in their children at an early age?
Every child is different. Parents needs to get to know their children and motivate them in a way that makes sense for who they are. Sometimes parents try to force a round peg into a square hole.
If you could pen an open letter to your children how would it read?
That is not something I would share publicly. I would, however, advise my children or any other child/young person to strive for excellence; have creativity, love, joy, happiness and compassion; treat others with the respect that they deserve; find something to smile about daily; figure out what you are passionate about and find a way to make a career or business out of it.
This was amazing insight coming from someone accomplished who through the years has mastered the balance of work and home life. I’m sure attorney Reginald Greene the party of six father has multiple stories to share. Finding balance, I presume is always a work in progress especially while constantly endeavoring to fine tune multiple situations.

This week on Reclaiming, we sit down with the incomparable Molly Ringwald, the actress who defined a generation and shaped ’80s pop culture forever (Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club).
In this intimate conversation, Molly pulls back the curtain on her meteoric rise to fame, sharing candid revelations about navigating Hollywood as a teenage icon. She offers a fascinating glimpse into her creative partnership with legendary director John Hughes, and reveals the untold story of how her own headshot unexpectedly inspired the classic “Pretty in Pink.” Plus, Molly reflects on her years in Paris, where she rediscovered herself away from the American spotlight.
Ringwald shared that Hughes wrote Sixteen Candles inspired solely by her headshot, which he had pinned above his computer. She also recounted how an impromptu dance with co-star Matt Freeman at Kingston Mines led Hughes to conceptualize her character in Pretty in Pink.
Reflecting on her early fame, Ringwald acknowledged that while she has always been in the public eye, the intense spotlight during her teenage years felt overwhelming and intimidating. She continues to process the complexities of her early career and her collaboration with Hughes, recognizing both the opportunities and challenges it presented.

Animal lovers, get ready for a documentary that will make you laugh, cry, and hug your furry (or feathered!) friends a little tighter. Disney+ has just revealed the official trailer and key art for Pets, a heartwarming documentary premiering April 11โfittingly on National Pet Day.
From Disney Branded Television and Imagine Documentaries, Pets is directed by Bryce Dallas Howard (The Mandalorian), who takes audiences on an uplifting journey into the extraordinary relationships between animals and their humans across the globe. Whether you’re a lifelong pet owner or just love a good animal story, this film promises moments of joy, tenderness, and pure, unfiltered love.
A Personal Passion Project for Bryce Dallas Howard
Following her acclaimed 2019 documentary Dads, Howard brings her signature warmth and curiosity to a subject close to her heartโour deep, often wordless connections with pets.
“Directing a documentary about the relationship between pets and their people has been a dream for years,” says Howard. “Thereโs something about these intuitive bonds, full of mischief and love, that feel like magic. And pet videos? They tap into such pure innocence and happiness, the kind of laughter that catches you off guard and reminds you why we love them so much.”
A Celebration of Love, Loss, and Licks
Pets goes beyond just cute moments (though expect plenty of those!). The documentary showcases a diverse range of storiesโfrom everyday pet parents to dedicated animal rescuersโspotlighting the deep, irreplaceable bonds they share with their dogs, cats, pigs, goats, and even birds of prey. Blending touching interviews, archival footage, viral pet videos, and unforgettable real-life moments, Pets is a tribute to the creatures who bring us endless love, comfort, and joy.
Meet the Team Behind Pets
This original Disney+ film is produced by Imagine Documentaries, the team behind the Emmyยฎ Award-winning Jim Henson Idea Man and the inspiring docuseries Harlem Ice. Producers include Sara Bernstein, Justin Wilkes, Meredith Kaulfers, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Elisabeth Jamison, with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard serving as executive producers.

Dave Chappelle is an award-winning American comedian, actor, screenwriter, and producer who stands as one of the most influential entertainers of his generation. Internationally recognized for his trademark wit, fearless social commentary, and no-holds-barred approach, he deliberately steps over society’s red lines and builds his sharpest material from the other side. His groundbreaking achievements in- clude creating the best-selling TV show in DVD history with ‘Chappelle’s Show,’ winning multiple Emmy and Grammy awards for his stand-up specials, and setting records with his unprecedented runs at Radio City Music Hall.
Born into a family of educators in Washington, D.C., Chappelle began his comedy career at age 14. After early success in film and television, he created the ground- breaking “Chappelle’s Show” (2003-2006). In a move that shocked the industry, he walked away from a $50 million deal at the height of the show’s success, a decision later viewed as a principled stand for creative integrity.
His recent accomplishments include five Primetime Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, and six acclaimed Netflix specials. He received the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in October 2019 and the 2025 NAACP Pres- ident’s Award. Through it all, Chappelle has maintained his distinctive voice and unflinching approach to comedy, proving that success can come without compro- mise. His continued residence in Yellow Springs, Ohio, far from the entertainment industry’s centers of power, reflects the independence that has defined his career.
