Finally things are taking a turn around in Atlanta. Just when things seemed bleak with film production companies pulling out left and right and actors refusing to walk red carpets due to the heartbeat abortion law; it seemed like things were on a downward spiral.
According to the Washington Examiner on Tuesday October 1st, it just might be the day one federal judge makes a lot of people happy for the following reasons:
A federal judge temporarily blocked a law in Georgia on Tuesday that would ban abortions after six weeks, once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which was supposed to take effect Jan. 1.
U.S. District Judge Steve Jones, an Obama appointee, sided with the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, and the Center for Reproductive Rights, who filed a complaint on behalf of abortion providers in June.
“In a state with a critical shortage of medical providers and some of the highest rates of maternal and infant deaths, especially among black Georgians, politicians should focus on expanding access to reproductive care, not banning abortion before someone even knows they’re pregnant,” said Talcott Camp, deputy director of the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project.
The law, signed by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in May, would make exceptions in cases of rape or incest, or if the mother’s life was at risk. Federal judges have issued injunctions against similar six-week bans in several states, including Kentucky and Ohio.
Actor Michael Luwoye (The Gifted) lands series regular role on NBC’s Bluff City Law which airs Monday nights at 10pm. The Producer’s Channel got a chance to have lunch with the Michael Luwoye star catch up with him on his latest role. However, once we saw him as attorney Anthony Little on ‘Bluff City Law’ with a totally different accent we fell more in love all over again with the new character. Todd Chrisley Firm in his statement “We Did Nothing Wrong”
The person I feel for the most is Chase who’s the son of Todd Chrisley because he was well promoted on the show “Chrisley Knows Best” on the USA channel and he’s a young man who’s probably utterly embarrassed with all these allegations going on against his parents. For the sake of the children I hope Todd is correct in his claims that all of these allegations of deceitful discretions of being charged with tax evasion, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States is all due to a disgruntled ex-employee’s dastardly ways. Wendy Williams set the record straight during an interview with Fox 5 News after social media went into a frenzy when they caught word that Wendy was going to accept her ex-husband Kevin Hunter back as her business manager. Also, with 25 years behind them and business matters together it may have even seemed logical this would happen. Either way Black twitter was NOT having it. To Have and to Hold Charlotte – New Series on OWN Network
Atlanta Media were privy to a private Media Lunch with three amazing power couples from a new show on the own network. Pictured above the socialites “Alane & Yandrick, the fun couple “Christine & Darhyl”, and the Vegan, Nurse and health advocate Ursula and hubby Clinton. The great dynamic is that each couple pictured above considers themselves power couples and Christine and Darhyl are America’s Dream Couple and Lovebirds together since college. Darhyl has truly found his soulmate and they are elated that the key to their marriage going strong over 10 years is because they have a 48 hr rule (they do NOT go without having sex over 48 hrs). Interesting.
As with any ensemble couple series there is always the struggle relationship couple and the “This is the Situation” couple. You must tune in so you can make your OWN identification of who truly runs Charlotte. All the couples are definitely winning as relationships are hard work and you will see how each couple is dedicated to putting in the work! I think this is going to be my new favorite show now that Love Is… is no longer airing.
Own Describes the show stating the following:
To Have and To Hold: Charlotte follows the real challenges couples face, from financial stress, to issues with intimacy, to the ups and downs of parenthood. The tight-knit couples like to let loose and have fun, and while these passionate and often opinionated friends may have their differences, they will ultimately do anything for each other. As marriages and friendships are put to the test, will they have the love and strength needed to thrive or will some of these relationships crack under the pressure?
Media blogs have been going viral with headlines “Dennis & Porsha Break Up”, “Porsha Heartbroken After Dennis Admits to Cheating.” What does all this mean for the future of Porsha and PJ? Before you get all bent out of shape and start feeling sorry for Porsha remember these episodes we are watching were filmed at least 4-6 months ago. That’s enough time for some major reconciling to begin.
A little birdie close to the blog told us they ran into Dennis McKinley this summer at the Bronner Bros Hair show and Dennis said the following “you know I had to go and get my family back.” Sounds like Dennis is no fool and realizes that he could really have a family and future with Porsha Williams. Since the first season of RHOA Porsha has expressed she wanted a baby and a family. She may have not gotten it right the first or second time looking for Mr Right after her divorce but seems like the third time might be a charm even though there seems to have been some bumps in the road.
We have seen Porsha really mature and seems like she wants to have her priorities in order and keep PJ closely connected to her father despite the future for her and Dennis. I think this couple will make it through the rough patches. With Dennis being on national television and knowing “the world” is watching him, I believe Dennis will do the right thing for a while at least. After all, Dennis isn’t getting any younger, and he is going to need a real partner in his corner to help him build the empire he’s accumulating with all his businesses.
Porsha already has fame and her own cash and lil PJ. She’s got an entire network and cast mates to keep her time occupied (and a check coming in). Having a husband would be a bonus and help Porsha live the American Dream but the reality of the situation is sometimes men don’t really know how to appreciate what’s right in front of them because money & power usually leads to distractions for MEN.
Either way we know Porsha is going to be just fine. She’s got her Momma and her Sister right by her side to lend a shoulder for her to lean on. Oh and her bestie Shamea Morton and baby Shya. Heck, she even has Kenya Moore and baby Brooklyn; not to mention her Dish Nation family. Porsha Williams you have real back up on your side and most important God Got Her.
