Houston native Hefe Wine released the documentary ‘When Thugs Fly’ on Friday March 4, 2022 on Tubi . The documentary is a memoir chronicling the life of Hefe Wine aka Wine-O aka Nuwine aka WINE, from his young teenage years leaving home at 14 years of age; up until he hit a level of success in the rap game on through his adult hood.
‘When Thugs Fly’, the documentary has several teachable moments, especially for young black men trying to navigate their way through life. Times are truly different today than they were for African Americans in the days of Martin Luther King Jr. and civil rights leaders in his day. But what you will see is how Hefe Wine (like other young black men) will face certain obstacles almost every black man will encounter in his lifetime. Will he experience consequences for his choices?
At the end of the day no matter what shade of brown or black your skin is. If you are an African American in America you will be judged. Parents make sure your young African American boys and girls have knowledge about their culture and understand their history. They must be prepared and understand they have choices and options.

‘Money Mu’ is making his stage rounds as he recently performed at 107.9 Birthday Bash 25 in Atlanta , Georgia
It’a always amazing to see folks from your hometown when attending a concert. But this wasn’t just any concert; fresh out of a year long pandemic with concerts and large music events restricted the “ROLLING LOUD” annual event was able to happen in Miami, FL. This music event brings out the top new artists next to blow along with the artists we have come to know and love who have used platforms just like this to expose and elevate their brand.
Money Mu was no exception, and he showed gratitude as he posted a video clips from the event giving a huge shout out to @BRSKASH for bringing him out on stage to drop some bars on the crowd. This was a stand up move and let’s you know this display of humility lets you know Money Mu is on his way. Look out for his next project.
Owner Ebony Austin receives Proclamation from the Mayor of Jonesboro declaring July 25th Official “Ebony Austin Day” for all her work in the community through philanthropy.
The City of Jonesboro will truly be changed forever after the Grand Opening of Nouveau @ Broad Street in Jonesboro, GA. The opening of this restaurant is part of the ‘Broad Street Project’ to bring Black businesses back to downtown Jonesboro. On July 25th we entered the building of the new restaurant (after we made a pit stop at the Stella Rosa Wine truck for samples of their new flavors); but once we were checked in we couldn’t help but notice that on the wall was a beautiful media mural that captured the moments from the beginning of Owner Ebony Austin’s journey from Chicago to the historical city of College Park on Main street where she birthed her first official Nouveau Bar & Grill location. We spotted “The Producer’s Channel TV’ on the wall and we were totally not only caught off guard but honored that our work of recognizing amazing restaurants had not gone unnoticed. We were truly grateful and honored.
The VIP escort/bodyguard ushered us into the VIP room where we were served Grey Goose Essence cocktails (Strawberry & Lemonade), and delicious cupcakes. The location used to be a firehouse but the way they transformed the building was truly amazing. Looking out the glassdoors there was a beautiful stage & a lawn filled with tables and people who were so excited to be in this black owned venue which truly represented Black Excellence.
The show started with an amazing performance by the Jonesboro High School Band. Afterwards the Owner of Nouveau, a beautiful Black female business woman Ebony Austin presented the Jonesboro High School Band leader with a check for the band for $5000.00. The team was so elated. They also had a special announcement: They were invited to perform at the White House for 4th of July celebration in 2022.
After the Mayor totally shocked everyone reading the Proclamation from the City of Jonesboro to Ebony Austin and stating that July 25th will Officially be ‘Ebony Austin Day’ in the city of Jonesboro. There wasn’t a dry eye on the stage or in the audience as everyone was truly surprised of the growth of this Southside of Chicago native business woman. Congratulations Ebony!
Now it was time for the real show to begin: BET’s Encore cast member Nivea opened up the show and she looked amazing! There was a little mic trouble but she just kept right on singing. Next up was the singer RL, formerly of the group NEXT. RL took us right down memory lane with songs we love love to sing. From hits he wrote ending with “WIFEY”. Then we learned a fun fact that ‘Lil Mo’ was actually singing background.
The night ended with an amazing performance by ‘ Lil Mo’. I almost forgot Lil Mo was a triple threat! She’s not only an amazing singer and rapper, Lil Mo is an all around entertainer/radio host with personality bursting through the ceiling. After her dynamic performance Yung Joc ‘the MC’ of the night, kindly took the mic back and called Ms. Shyneka to the stage. Joc challenged Ms Shyneka to a friendly karaoke contest & I think Joc might have won that round esp since Ms Shyneka was lipsynching . Next they found someone in the audience who was having relationship issues to prove “The Love Doc Joc” was real with his advice.
Before we end this article, we can’t forget to mention the food was absolutely amazing! It was being passed out all night long. There was the Spinach Dip, Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp, Salmon, Crab meat & Grits, and Buffalo Shrimp w Blue Cheese were the samples the guests got to choose from. Rave reviews were coming from people all around as the table talk banter continued all night long.
Everyone thought that Volvo Cars of Marietta had their XC60 Black 2021 vehicle out on the side of the stage as a give away prize. I soon realized it was one of the branded sponsors for the event. Oh what an amazing night. Please check out the photos in the gallery.
BASED ON THE UNTOLD TRUE STORY OF BLACK FARMER JOHN BOYD JR. AND LAWYER JAMES FARRIN WHO WORKED TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE JUSTICE FOR BLACK FARMERS IN AMERICA
Los Angeles, CA, June 10, 2021 – Today,CMNTY Culture, a Black-owned entertainment and media enterprise founded by eight-time GRAMMY award-winning songwriter Philip Lawrence, announced its first film project, The Last Plantation, via its film/ TV vertical, CMNTY Culture Films. CMNTY Culture will be the lead production company on The Last Plantation, an untold true story chronicling one of the largest civil rights settlements in history. Hunt Lowry(A Time to Kill, Last of the Mohicans) of Roserock Films and Jesse Kennedy (Brooklyn’s Finest, Stolen) are signed on to produce the film, joined by Philip Lawrence, CMNTY Culture Chief Operating Officer/ Chief Legal Officer Miles Cooley, CMNTY Culture CEO Thomas St. John, and main character/ lawyerJames Farrin as executive producers.
Written by Tyger Williams (Menace II Society, Self Made: Madam C.J. Walker), The Last Plantation follows Black soybean farmer, John Boyd Jr., and white car accident attorney, James Farrin, as they overcome long odds and Washington gridlock to obtain a $1.25 billion settlement for over 18,000 Black farmers who had been discriminated against by the U.S. government. For years, the USDA routinely treated Black farmers unjustly, earning it the unfortunate nickname “the last plantation.”
“With its underlying themes of racial justice and social equity, ‘The Last Plantation’ showcases everything that CMNTY Culture stands for. It’s an important story to tell, not only because of its historical context, but also because it points to how we can come together to address social issues and injustices, even in a polarized world,” said CMNTY Culture Founder and Chairman, Philip Lawrence. “We couldn’t be happier to launch our film/ TV vertical with such an inspiring project and hope that it helps shed some much-overdue light on the often-neglected plight of Black farmers in America.”
The premise of the film aligns closely with CMNTY Culture’s mission of promoting and advancing racial equity, social justice, and diversity/inclusion in all aspects of its business, which includes film/TV, music, music publishing, and real estate. Philip Lawrence founded the company in 2019 alongside a visionary group of accomplished leaders: Thomas St. John, Founder of Thomas St. John Group; Miles Cooley, formerly DLA Piper; Marlena Kaplan, formerly Blackstone; Malik Rasheed, formerly Epic Records; and Chief Johnson, formerly PUMA Group.
About CMNTY Culture:Launched in 2019, CMNTY Culture is a Black-owned, independent music and media enterprise founded by eight-time GRAMMY award-winning songwriter Philip Lawrence in partnership with Thomas St. John, founder of Thomas St. John Group, a leading international accounting and business management firm. We are watching our girl Issa Rae grow up right before our very eyes. She went from the Awkward Black Girl to being insecure & now she will be swinging off buildings? This is just how awesome you can be when you are a black girl who rocks!
The Hollywood Reporter explained it so eloquently:
Rae will join returning actors Shameik Moore, who voiced the film’s hero Miles Morales, and Hailee Steinfeld who played Gwen Stacy, a.k.a. Spider-Gwen. Both actors have already confirmed they will appear in the sequel which, after multiple reschedules, is now set to arrive in theaters on October 7th, 2022. Rae is the first new addition to be announced.
Little is known about the sequel’s plot, but it’s safe to assume that it will have a similar, multiverse structure as Into the Spider-Verse. In the Oscar-winning film, a young Brooklyn kid named Miles Morales becomes the new Spider-Man and acclimates to the role with a little help from other Spider characters across multiple universes. John Mulaney plays a pig who was bitten by a spider and now goes by the name Spider-Ham, and Nicholas Cage turns in a memorable performance as an old-school, Humphrey Bogart-esque Spider-Man known as Spider-Man Noir.
To put it simply, Into the Spider-Verse blew people’s minds when it first came out. Pretty much everyone from Barack Obama to Kevin Smith praised the film for its heart, humor, and comic book-come-to-life quality of animation. Even MCU’s Spider-Man and Esquire cover star Tom Holland gave the film a glowing review, writing on Instagram, “Honestly one of the coolest films I’ve ever seen. Do yourself a favor and go see this movie.”
As for the sequel’s closely guarded plot, some have suggested that the presence of Spider-Woman means that the film might include a visit to one of MCU’s most important landscapes, Wundagore Mountain. You see, Spider-Woman, who made her Marvel debut in 1977, grew up on Wundagore Mountain after moving there with her family from London when she was a young girl. You know who else is from Wundagore Mountain? Quicksilver and his twin the Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda. Does that mean we’ll be getting an Elizabeth Olsen cameo in the Into the Spider-Verse sequel?? Probably not, but who the hell knows!
Just like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the follow-up film exists in a separate universe than the MCU Spider-Man films, but that doesn’t mean a future, potential collaboration that melds the two worlds is entirely out of the question. When it comes to Spider-Woman, the two studios could reach an agreement that allows them to share the rights to the character, just like they did in regards to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films. But as of now, both Sony and Marvel are developing their own separate takes on Spider-Woman. As Esquire’s own Brady Langmann reported recently, Emilia Clarke is rumored to have been cast in the role of Spider-Woman in Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, Secret Invasion.

Black Rob has passed away in an Atlanta hospital days after saying his farewell to DMX. He suffered a stroke in 2015. Allegedly he had suffered problems from his failing kidneys for the past 5 years. DJ Self was posting videos of Black Rob for the past week per Rob’s request in efforts to let people know what was going on in his life. In the video he appeared to be in a lot of pain and disgusted because of lack of funds to provide sufficient housing for himself. He complained about being in pain.
There were blogs that released information about Sean Combs sending money to help out the rapper. RIP to another Hip Hop artist who once was taking over the streets of New York. Black Rob was also once on the Bad Boy roster as one of Diddy’s artists.
Lashaun Drew business owner of The Original Hot Dog Factory in Voorhees, NJ had an amazing run with her “Towel Drive” she started mid January and extended through the end of Black History Month (February). What started off as an attempt to collect towels for at least 300 people for the Homeless Shelter “The Joseph House of Camden” turned into over 1000 towels and blankets as well being collected from people who donated all over the world.
Those who were not able to come in and donate locally actually asked for the address and mailed in their donations. Others were able to contribute funds through a donation button located on Lashaun Drew’s facebook page. Vinny Curry (defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles) was even able to spread the word through his social media story. When you are collecting goods for any drive, it stands true everyone’s efforts to spread the word is a good deed done.
The towels will be delivered in the month of March. Please check back for updates. Job well done Lashaun Drew & congrats on the bravery to open up a new business during these pandemic times. You are the real M.V.P.
If you are in the South Jersey area please visit The Original Hot Dog Factory, 910 Haddonfield-Berlin Rd Suite 3, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043 located in the Ritz Center.
Grammy nominated vocalist Audra Day has always been destined for greatness. As an artist I knew the world had great things in store for Day when she teamed up with McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and ESSENCE for the “I’ll Rise” Campaign which is based on her signature tune “Rise Up.”
Some say blood is thicker than water, but in the fictional small town of Cypress, vengeance is bigger than family loyalty. Mayor Ella Johnson is arrested for alledgely killing Malik Thompson whose body was found in her empty pool.
Things get worse when her mother Leona sweeps in for a power grab and undermines her daughter’s chance at freedom as she plots to take over the city of Cypress and New Hope church.

Dr Christi definitely is also on board to figure out what really happened, all while managing to keep close watch on her good friend Pastor Levi. Minutes after the Houston Eater posted an article expressing how 2020 was a “devastating year for Houston’s restaurant industry” ; news also broke that Dennis McKinley will continue his Houston takeover with the opening of CBD-focused lounge in Downtown.
In August of 2020 McKinley also opened an Original Hot Dog Factory in Houston and he appears to be setting up double shops in cities worldwide. The CRU LOUNGE is very popular in Atlanta. One decade ago the first CRU LOUNGE opened and 2020 seems to be the year that McKinley has been on franchise fire.
Atlanta just opened a new CRU Lounge on Edgewood open 7 days a week until 4am. The streets of Edgewood are known for heavy foot traffic. Restaunteur Pinky Cole also opened a new Slutty Vegan location on Edgewood as well. Apparently this is one of the restaurant row hotspots in the streets of Atlanta.
Best wishes to Dennis McKinley from the Producers Channel. We also got wind that CRU Lounge will be opening a location in Washington DC on inauguration day on 316 H Street January 21, 2021. “Don’t meet us there,” says McKinley.
Reality TV exploded during the pandemic but unscripted TV played a huge part in keeping broadcast netsworks afloat.
It’s crazy how many shows were able to snap into remote mode and keep it pushing. News shows like TMZ , The Real and The Wendy Williams shows were examples of adapt and keep the show going . These were some of the types of shows that late 2020 were either able to hop back into full production and have business as usual in full production ;but following strict Covid guidelines.
According to the Hollywood Reporter check out what shows are getting renewed and what’s getting cancelled. Keep checking back on their website for updates.

ATTORNEY REGINALD GREENE KNOWN BY HIS SOBRIQUET ‘THE SUPER LAWYER’ IS ALSO A SUPER DAD
Father of six, attorney Reginald Greene is the founder, managing member and managing attorney of Greene Legal Group, LLC. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree, magna cum laude, from Howard University at the age of 20. He also received his Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude, from Howard University Law School. Being a successful businessman has not detracted from his fatherly duties in the least bit.
One may wonder how does a full-time lawyer with his own practice manage to stay at the top of his game while also managing to be a hands on Dad when fatherhood is also full-time duty work? It’s inevitable Reginald Greene implements the same level of care, life-skills, experience and commitment when it comes to fatherhood that he uses when it comes to representing clients and winning cases. How so you might ask?
The Producers Channel TV reporters were able to catch up with the “Super Dad” and ask some very pertinent questions. Pay attention to how important parenting is to this accomplished Dad and professional business owner.
How important do you think a Dad’s Role is in a child’s life?
A Dad’s role in a child’s life is extremely important. A good father is a leader, teacher and guide. He provides time, attention, love, support and discipline. He can also be a role model. Ultimately a mother and father have distinct roles.
Do any of your children aspire to be a lawyer?
My oldest son, Reginald Jr. is in law school. He graduates next year.
How do you balance being the Super Lawyer & Super Dad?
It’s simple I put everything in this order. God. Family. Justice. There is a delicate balance between work and home life. Throughout my career as a lawyer I have always been striving to balance. Early in my career, I had a lot to learn. In my work life, I allowed work to consume a significant amount of my time. As years went on I was able to increase my family time significantly. For me, becoming my own boss was key. That gave me the most flexibility to balance my work and family life.
Do the daily tasks in the life of being “The Super Lawyer” make you feel like a Super Hero?
Absolutely. When people seek my advice, it is usually some situation involving distress or tragedy. My job is to get the best possible outcome and “save the day”… just like a super hero.
Speaking of being a Super Hero. I believe it was right before your oldest daughter’s left for college, you accompanied her to ‘Ryan Cameron’s Father Daughter Dance’ in Atlanta, GA at the Delta Hangar. Why do girls need to understand and experience the depth of love from a father or father figure?
A father is usually a girl’s first love. That relationship will have a significant impact on how she allows herself to be treated in life and in relationships with men. A father must make sure to teach his daughter her worth and what she should and should not tolerate.
How vital to a child’s future is it for parents to instill setting life goals in their children at an early age?
Every child is different. Parents needs to get to know their children and motivate them in a way that makes sense for who they are. Sometimes parents try to force a round peg into a square hole.
If you could pen an open letter to your children how would it read?
That is not something I would share publicly. I would, however, advise my children or any other child/young person to strive for excellence; have creativity, love, joy, happiness and compassion; treat others with the respect that they deserve; find something to smile about daily; figure out what you are passionate about and find a way to make a career or business out of it.
This was amazing insight coming from someone accomplished who through the years has mastered the balance of work and home life. I’m sure attorney Reginald Greene the party of six father has multiple stories to share. Finding balance, I presume is always a work in progress especially while constantly endeavoring to fine tune multiple situations.

At the peak of his career, NFL quarterback Cam Newton heard a 10-year old boy had spent Christmas fighting a serious heart condition.
Two days later, on his day off, he chartered a flight and flew out to surprise him.
These twitter comments really speak volume on how Cam’s fans really feel about him and the people who really know who Cam Newton is and what he stands for are not surprised at this good deed.
Fun Fact. Did you know that Cam’s Newton’s dad’s church is in Newnan, GA and Cam is often spotted in Fairburn at the local Cracker Barrell on Senoia Rd? It’s also not unlikely to spot Cam working out near Camp Creek. It’s not a good idea to prejudge Icons and NFL star like Cam Newton based on blogs and media reviews rather than knowing the side of their heart.
What are your thoughts? Did you always know that Cam Newton was a stand up kind of dude or did you get caught up with the media’s portrayal of Cam being a selfish know it all Diva?

Lifetime TV premered ” A Question of Faith” on April 12th Easter Sunday. Although the movie debuted in theaters in 2017 the film’s subject matter is very timely amid these pandemic times. At the time of production Angela White held the designation as the first faith-based film produced by a female African American producer, White, a veteran producer of Silver Lining Entertainment is certainly no stranger to knowing what it takes to produce a great movie.
“A QUESTION OF FAITH” portrays the struggle of three families of differing ethnicities as they seek to answer difficult questions about struggles taking place in their individual lives. One viewer exclaimed “It’s one of the best faith-based films I have seen, A QUESTION OF FAITH brings three different families together through a tragic accident stemming from texting and driving. A pastor and his family wrestle with God’s plan for their lives. A mother and daughter struggle to find faith. And a couple desperately seeks a way to save their child. All of their lives converge as the question of each person’s faith plays out and they come to discover God’s love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
The film was appropriate for the whole family and for both Christians and non-believers, has an amazing cast, including Richard T. Owner of Nouveau Bar & Grill Ebony Austin has had an amazing 2021. Despite national pandemic conditions. In a city where social justice was top of the list, riots and rallies month after month, waterboys attacking the public, a wing shortage and mask mandates were mask on then mask off; Austin refused to let anything stand in her way.
From giving back consistently Ebony truly believed in the quote “If you do good to others God will definitely do his part to make sure you prosper.” (The elaborate version of karma)
Let’s go down Memory Lane and see how it started and where we are now. In January 2021 Ebony Austin was a part of her first docs-series where she got to tell her story in, “Making of a Mogul” an independent film project. Tanya Sam former (Real Housewives of Atlanta castmate was Host). February there was Valentine’s Day for couples at Nouveau with an entire Valentine Day menu. In March Ebony was offered a board member position with the BIRTHRIGHT organization. Also it was on the night of February 22, 2021 Austin agreed to a mentorship program and to employ the kids of the Birthright organization and participate in Motivation Monday every Monday night going forward.
In March the Nouveau Owner had the pleasure of welcoming the Baddest Chick “Rapper Trina” to experience the Mimosa Jam Sunday Brunch on the Balcony. There was even a surprise visit from Rapper Flo Rida. That Sunday was definitely one for the history books. Later that month she celebrated her first national feature in Sheen Magazine’s April issue featuring Influencer/reality star Pretty V on the cover. The the month ended with a fundraiser to help several families who were victims of “child sex trafficking” . The event was very emotional as families told their experiences. Ebony donated her event for 4 hours so families could gather and gain support from each other while the organization went live with media to raise funds.
April Showers not only brought in May flowers but also brought in Reality Star from OWN TV Martell Holt who absolutely loved the Nouveau experience and even had the viewing party for season 2 at the establishment. The month of April was the bittersweet end of the ad campaign Nouveau rain for 3 issues of the “Buckhead Life Magazine.”
Clearly Nouveau had a stellar first quarter of 2021 coming off of a terrible year in 2020 of lockdowns and longtime business owners having to shut their doors for good. The springtime zipped by and by summer Nouveau’s patio was packed and the upstairs balcony patio dining was booked and busy. Weekends turned into 2-hour waits and lines wrapped around the corner. Nouveau was now the official lunch hot spot.
Ebony was a regular Monday morning face on the (23 year old ) infamous Rolling Out A.M. show for several weeks discussing what’s new on her menu, worldwide events and local news. The IGNITE RESOURCE CENTER of College Park held a Charity Gala for the BIRTHRIGHT TEEN AGILE Leadership Program. Then the Mayor of Jonesboro declared July 25th Ebony Austin Day! It was also the day the 2nd Nouveau location was birthed! How beautiful to see this Chicago native live out her dreams and get her flowers while she is alive and has many years to go.
At the Grand Opening Ebony Austin presented one of the High School Bands in Clayton County with a check for $5000.00. In the month of November for Thanksgiving, Nouveau Jonesboro gifted over 600 turkeys and full meal packages to families in the community. Actors Naturi Naughton and Marlo Hampton were on deck to help along with several volunteers.
To top the ending of 2021 on a very high note the owner Ebony Austin (female African American Business Owner ) was announced and presented with an award from the city of College Park as “Business Person of the Year” for all her Charitable Contributions to the community and running her business with style and grace. A true asset to the community.
Ebony blessed the children of the community with over 80,000 worth of toys. From Huffy Bikes, flatscreen vizio televisions, chromebooks, toys, games, trampolines, video games and everything a child could dream of to make their Christmas Day the best day ever. There were 50 Christmas full dinners given away as well as six $1000.00 scholarships to students in college and preparing to go to college. Truly Ebony Austin and Nouveau Bar & Grill Restaurants are a Class Act addition to the community.
Big Daddy Kane Speaks Out and Sets the Story Straight
In April, Big Daddy Kane revealed that Biz Markie was recovering from a stroke but said he is “getting better.”
“He’s in rehabilitation now. He’s getting better and stronger every day,” Kane told The Breakfast Club.
“Last time I talked to him on the phone, he got a real light voice, but last time I talked on the phone. He stuck his middle finger up at me, so I think he’s coming along.”
Biz Markie is not dead, his management has confirmed, after reports of the rapper’s death spread through social media.
The rapper, 57, is still alive, despite legions of fans sharing their condolences on social media in response to the false rumors.
A number of high-profile celebrities also mistakenly tweeted about his death, with Pharrell Williams and Talib Kweli deleting tweets after Biz’s representatives confirmed the rumors were false.
A source close to the Juice Crew legend tells HipHopDX he’s still alive as of a few hours ago but isn’t doing well. Unfortunately for Biz, his fans and family, his passing could be “eminent” and he needs Hip Hop’s help.
TV One journalist Rolands Martin also confirmed Biz is still alive, tweeting, “Folks, @BizMarkie has NOT died. I have been in contact with sources who are texting and talking to his wife. My source talked to Biz TODAY. Per his wife, Biz HAS NOT passed away. Please stop responding to non-credible sources. This hurts the family, friends and fans.”
